The frequency of data arrival and the frequency of reports needed help in deciding what kind of data architecture approach should be used. Most of the time, the data is required on either monthly, weekly, or daily basis. For analysis, the data needed is usually one day old in some specific cases, real-time data might also be needed.

The data fetching frequency can be decided based on the business users requirements. When the report frequency is not real time, then a multi-tier architecture works well, but when real time data is needed, the data architecture must be a very simple and contain one less tier, so that data can be populated in the report faster.

In Qlik Sense, you can create different types of architecture at QVD or QVF level. This is explained in next section.
