User training

User training is the most important part in adoption strategy. We must never forget that as a consultant we are very familiar with Qlik Sense, but for the users, it may be a very new subject. The users will be of various types:

  • Some users will be very new to Business Intelligence and would have largely used Excel for their reporting requirements. These set of users may be apprehensive as they need to move away from their comfort zone. Extra efforts are needed to make these users comfortable, and they will need initial motivation and hand holding.
  • The other set of users will be the ones who are working on traditional tools. They have already migrated from Excel and will be familiar with BI. The traditional tools are largely Information Technology driven projects but these users will be new to the concept of self-service. They may not be aware of other features, such as search, collaboration/story-telling, and mobility. These users are relatively easier to train and will be quite excited to move to Qlik Sense.
  • The consultant may encounter some users who are already familiar with the new generation of BI software. These users will be the most easiest to train. They just need to get familiar with the interface of Qlik Sense software. These users can be instrumental in helping the spread of adoption and can help other business users as well.

Mentioned next are some of the points a consultant must consider during end user training.
