Task: Conduct Elicitation

The second task of the Elicitation and Collaboration Knowledge Area is: Conduct Elicitation. This task describes the execution of elicitation sessions as it was planned and is now performed by the business analyst. 

There are a number of different ways of conducting elicitation with stakeholders and in most cases, the business analyst will use a combination of different approaches, techniques, and styles to obtain and complete the elicitation activities. In this section, we discuss the primary categories of how elicitation can be conducted and we discuss the role of the business analyst during the elicitation session itself.

Let's start by considering the purpose of the task of conducting elicitation and the types of elicitation the business analyst can perform.
