Element 2: Compare elicitation results against other elicitation results

This element describes the further activity of comparing the elicitation results from elicitation sessions against any source information or alternative elicitation results that may exist. Where variations in results are identified, it is the business analyst's role to resolve these variations by working in collaboration with stakeholders. If historical data or other reliable information exists, the business analyst can also use that to remove any variations identified.

It is a good idea to collaborate during an elicitation session with stakeholders to help build these models to help avoid variations or omissions early on in the elicitation activities.

In many cases, inconsistencies in elicitation results are uncovered when business analysts develop specifications and/or models.
