Key things to know when using this technique

The nature of a concept model is similar to that of a glossary (and a glossary often forms part of a concept model), although the focus is on providing the information-rich and specific meanings of nouns and verbs. The aim is to establish a content-rich and semantic-focused source of information about how natural language is used in a specific context.

You should understand that concept models are often illustrated graphically. There are two primary types of concept model expressions—noun concepts and verb concepts.

Noun concepts describe the specific meaning and common language used for a specific noun whereas verb concepts describe the relationships between noun concepts. Note that a concept model is not the same as a data model.
