Specifically, in the Knowledge Area of Elicitation and Collaboration, the concept of stakeholder is applied in terms of the collaboration with the stakeholders during the elicitation process.

Let's look at an example to bring this concept of the stakeholder into the real world: 

If we continue with our previous example of the single general ledger software solution requirement, then it will be clear that without continuous stakeholder involvement and collaboration it will be hard to elicit requirements for the project. 

Therefore, it is clear that stakeholders play a vital part in requirement elicitation and collaboration activities with a clear relationship to the solution, the need, and the change.
