Core competency 2: Leadership and influencing

Leadership and influencing is the ability to guide stakeholders during business analysis activities toward a common-aligned goal. This often takes the format of an agreed set of requirements, a resolved set of requirements conflicts, or another analysis activity that requires influencing skills and leadership toward shared objectives.

This competency also includes the ability to understand each stakeholder's individual needs, motives, and capabilities in a way that enables the business analyst to steer stakeholders toward a consensus-based set of clear requirements aligned to the initiative and organizational goals.
