How is this technique applied?

Maintain the requirements

To identify a part of the solution that can be used by more than one part of the solution

Specify and model the requirements

To model the behavior of a solution by describing the use cases and the actors and their relationship

Measure the solution performance

To help define the expected outcomes of a solution

A use case diagram is used to summarize the scope of a solution by showing the actors and primary use cases or functions to the reader. It also shows interactions between the actors and use cases, which provides an easy-to-understand visual representation of how a new solution will be used. Supporting use case descriptions provide the necessary detail to the delivery and implementation teams in order to bring the solution to life.

The next technique you need to include in your preparation is user stories.
