Change

The core concept of Change refers to a recommendation for a change to either a solution or the enterprise in order to realize the potential value of a solution.

Let's look at an example to bring the concept of Change to life:

A fashion retail company, Debby's Unique Dresses, currently sells most of its exclusive dress patterns using a mail-order system. Customers have to view designs by browsing the online website catalog and then make an offline mail order to purchase a design. As the business analyst who worked on the original website selling via mail order, you have come back to do a post-implementation review to analyze whether the company is getting the expected benefits and value. After reviewing their existing sales channels, you find that there are improvements that will help increase the business value of the current website. You recommend that they implement an e-commerce component to their existing website. This will enable the company to also sell designs using online payment options as well as using the existing mail-order channel. By making this change to their existing website solution, they will increase the value of their sales dramatically.

This example illustrates how the core concept of Change is typically implemented during solution evaluation.
