Perspectives

Some common perspectives or contexts in which business analysis is most often performed have been defined within the BABOK® v3.0 Guide. These are not the only perspectives that business analysis can be applied from, but they are the most common.

The perspectives include the following:

  • Agile working
  • Business intelligence
  • Information technology
  • Business architecture
  • Business process management

Perspectives are also not mutually exclusive, and therefore an initiative can employ more than one perspective at different stages in the process.
