OFFSET LITHOGRAPHY
ˈȯf-ˌset li-ˈthä-grə-fē, n
A printing process based on the principles of
lithography, in which an inked image is fi rst
transferred, or offset, to a rubber blanket be-
fore being applied to a printing surface. One
set of rollers is used to apply the ink to the
plate, while another set rolls the blanket over
it, thereby transferring the ink to the blanket.
High quality and economies of scale have
helped make offset lithography, sometimes
called offset printing, the most common form
of commercial printing.

OBLIQUE

Sans serif type that is inclined to the right,
comprised of letterforms very similar to
